Today, the 1st graders got into partners and read/looked through a Caldecott book. Each book had two sticky notes: one with a star and one with a heart. They were supposed to mark the page they liked the most with a heart, and the page that they thought was the best with the star. They were also supposed to determine the medium used by the artist. Then, they took turns sharing their favorites. We talked about what made pictures "good" to us.
